Who You Are:
We are seeking a highly skilled Voice Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM) and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing with Session Border Controllers (SBCs). This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise voice and collaboration solutions across on-premise and cloud-based platforms. You will work closely with network, security, and collaboration teams to ensure seamless and secure voice services.
What You'll Do:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure (CUCM, Unity, UCCX, Expressway, IM&P)
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Session Border Controllers (SBCs) (AudioCodes, Ribbon, or Oracle) for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing
- Integrate Microsoft Teams with PSTN via certified SBCs
- Manage call routing, dial plans, voice gateways, and SIP trunk configurations
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex voice-related incidents and outages
- Monitor system health and performance, and proactively address issues
- Support voice migrations from legacy PBX or Cisco to Microsoft Teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, topologies, and procedures
- Collaborate with telecom carriers for provisioning, troubleshooting, and escalations
- Stay current with new UC technologies and make recommendations for continuous improvement
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise voice engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and related Cisco voice technologies
- Proven experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Teams Direct Routing with SBCs
- In-depth knowledge of SIP, RTP, QoS, VoIP call flow, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Expressway, Unity, and UCCX
- Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and certificate-based authentication in UC environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
